Obituary for Linda Young
Linda Joyce (Henderson) Young, age 77 of Ridge Farm, IL, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. Linda was born October 21, 1940 to Floyd Wilson and Edna Marie (Johnson) Henderson at their home in Brocton, IL. She married Larry Eugene Young on July 19, 1958 in Paris, IL, and they had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Linda graduated from Chrisman High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1969, Eastern Star, and Friends Church in Ridge Farm. She also volunteered at the VA. Linda loved genealogy and was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, camping, farming and square dancing. She is survived by her husband, Larry Young, Sr. of Ridge Farm; five sons: Larry Young, Jr. of Ridge Farm, Dean (Terri) Young of Ridge Farm, Tim (Darlene) Young of New Goshen, IN, Neal (Connie) Young of Ridge Farm, and Jamie (Dawn) Young of Leroy; a sister-in-law: Peggy Scott; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one unborn great-granddaughter. Linda had several nieces and nephews. She also raised two nieces, and is survived by one niece: Cheryl (Thomas) Woods. She is preceded in death by her parents; two siblings: Keith Henderson, Sr. and Marie Corwin; a niece: Carla Thompson; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Young America Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Georgetown American Legion Auxiliary.
