Obituary for Linda Kay Calloway
Linda Kay Emerick-Calloway went to Heaven on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. after a battle with cancer. Survivors include her husband, Donald Calloway Jr. of Chiefland, FL; her three children, Justin Calloway of Chiefland, FL, Bruce (Michelle) Miles of Georgetown, IL, and Robyn (Bobby) Skinner of Louisville, KY; her father, Cecil Emerick of Sidell, IL; two brothers, Bill (Judy) Emerick of Sidell, IL and D.J. (Billie Jo) Emerick of Sidell, IL; and Rick Miles of Danville, IL, the father of her two oldest children. Linda’s pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Bryson Miles and Madyson Skinner. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Jean Emerick, and four grandchildren. Linda was born in Paris, IL on July 16, 1963 to Cecil Emerick Jr. and Martha Jean Emerick. She enjoyed arts and crafts, going to the flea markets, and reading. Linda graduated from Jamaica High School in 1981. She was a former employee of Pleasant Meadows Christian Village of Chrisman, IL and Vermilion Manor Nursing Home of Danville, IL. Linda resided in Chiefland, FL with her husband Don, and son Justin. The family would like to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown to them during this time to Havens Hospice of Chiefland, FL. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Sidell, IL on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, from 1:00 to 3:00. Following the funeral, Linda will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Sidell. Krabel Funeral Home of Chrisman is handling arrangements for the family.
