Lillian Lou (Morey) Todd, age 91, of Oakland, IL, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Newman Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Lillian was born February 27, 1933, in Villa Grove, IL, to Forrest Lee and Belva Dale (Clayton) Morey. She married Malcolm Gene Todd, and they were married for 36 years before he preceded her in death.
Lillian grew up in Casey, IL and graduated from Casey High School in 1952. She was employed at Zenith for 22 years and cleaned houses for 34 years. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s group, the Ladies VFW Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Oakland Food Pantry. Lillian participated in bowling league from 1975-2016, and also enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards and traveling, both to other states and countries. She was a generous person, always ready to step in and help someone in need, and enjoyed spending time with her family, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Lillian is survived by two children: Debbie Todd of Newman, IL, and Gary Todd (Jackie) of Oakland, IL; a brother: Donny Morey; nine grandchildren: Jeremie Duzan (Carla) of Oakland, IL, Jared Duzan (Tara) of Camargo, IL, Nicole McBrayer (Joey) of Lakeland, FL, Rob Upton of Mattoon, IL, Dereck Todd (Lottie) of Charleston, IL, Drake Todd (Rathen) of Monticello, IL, Amanda Willis (Kenny) of Oakland, IL, Danielle Brown of Oakland, IL, and Dillon McConnell (Katie) of Hindsboro, IL; and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Robert Morey and Danny Morey; a sister: Lois Kingery; and her companion for 18 years, Floyd Hupp.
A private service will be held at a later date. Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. For those who wish, memorials in Lillian’s honor may be made to Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice or the Oakland Memorial Library.
