Obituary for Leroy Gray
Leroy Gray, age 81 of Oakland went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Paris Healthcare in Paris, Illinois. Leroy was born on July 10, 1930 in Murdock, Illinois to Emery and Edna (Proffit) Gray. He served two years in the United States Army and lived in the Oakland area all his life. He married Millie Fern Tuttle on September 14, 1957 at the Oakland Christian Church. He enjoyed gardening and working outside, and was a member of the Oakland Christian Church and Oakland V.F.W. He is survived by his wife; one son Eric Gray of Oakland; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Gray of Charleston, IL; his twin brother, Leon Gray of Greentown, IN; one sister, Lennie Deverick of Summersville, SC; six grandsons and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and four brothers. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 11 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Oakland V.F.W. or to Oakland Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
