Leonard “Bob” Cash, age 77, of Oakland passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 in his home. Bob was born on January 12, 1937 in South Bend, IN to Howard Logan and Sophia Elaine (Horvath) Cash. He proudly served our country in the Army stationed in France as an engineer operator. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Oakland. He enjoyed collecting Farmall IH tractors, attending farm sales and making his rounds every afternoon to the local coffee spots to visit with his friends. Bob loved animals and had two very special dogs, Pandy and Chomper Girl. Bob is survived by two sons: Howard (Linda) Cash of Hindsboro and Michael Cash of Oakland; one brother, James Cash of Paris; one sister, Delores Lutz of Melbourne,FL and six grandchildren: Kayleb, Logan and Zachary Cash of Hindsboro, Shelton Cash of Oakland, Austin Knauss of Tolono and Kylie Bell of Tolono. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held two hours prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Coles County Humane Society.
