Obituary for Kitzi Sue Tiek
Kitzi Sue (Ford) Tiek, age 73, of Brocton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Kitzi was born March 12, 1938 in Brocton, IL to Elmer and Bernice Carrie (Josserand) Ford. She married John Shaffer on July 15, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She later married Raymond Tiek on February 18, 1995, and preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Sheryle Shaffer Hendry and her husband Ron of Brocton; two grandchildren, Krystal Fitzgerald (Nate) of McHenry, IL and Nicholas Hunt and special friend, Brandy Bushman, of Indianapolis, IN; step-grandchildren, Leslie Ring (Andy) of Brownsburg, IN and Wade Hendry (Trisha) of Homer, IL; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Lucy Fitzgerald; and two step-great grandchildren, Ava Hendry and Elliott Ring. She was also survived by a stepson, Michael Tiek (Davida) Gillespie, IL; three step-daughters, Cynthia Woosley, Gillespie, IL, Debra Schreiber (Rich) of Dorchester, IL and Kathryn Conner of Mattoon, IL; 7 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren; a sister Erma Lee Ford of Paris, IL; three brothers, Elgar Ford of Paris, IL, Myron Ford of Paris, IL, and Delbert Ford of Ayer, MA; and sister-in-law and best friend, Evelyn Groves of Borton, IL. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one stepson. Kitzi worked at Zenith for twenty years, and was also a self-employed beautician. She loved country music, was an avid reader and enjoyed games of chance. She loved her family, and her dog, Dillon, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were very dear to her. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2011from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Newman Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Edgar County Humane Society or to Edgar County Faith in Action.
