Karen Jo (Hack) Trimberger, age 85, of rural Chrisman, IL, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Greenwood, IN. Born in Waukesha, WI, on October 30, 1939, to Horace and Kathryn (O’Mealy) Hack, Karen dedicated her life to caring for others. She married Rev. Dale H. Trimberger on September 22, 1962, in Granton, WI; and together they shared many loving years until his passing in 2021. She remained steadfast in their shared Christian faith throughout her life.
Karen’s legacy lives on through her two children: Joel Trimberger (Kimberly) of Fort Mill, SC and Ann Titus (Mel) of Chrisman, IL; one grandchild: Ian Titus (Jacqualynn) of Terre Haute, IN; and three great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Pierce, and Slade Titus.
A devoted registered nurse, Karen worked in hospitals and extended care environments for forty-one years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Karen loved her family dearly, and during their retirement, she and Dale resided in Chrisman, IL, Paris, IL, Lake Ozark, MO, and Fort Mill, SC, where they were able to live in close proximity to their children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorials in Karen’s honor may be made to the Chrisman Christian Church Food Pantry, 202 W. Madison Ave, Chrisman, IL 61924, or to the Bethany Comfort Dog Ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 E. Main St., Danville, IL 61832 (in lieu of flowers).
