Obituary for Joseph Wayne Hawkins
Joseph Wayne Hawkins, age 66, of Jasonville, Indiana and formerly of Oakland, Illinois rejoined his parents on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. Joe was born September 4, 1947 in Charleston, Illinois to Russell Wayne and Ellen Louise (Combs) Hawkins. He married Caroline Sue Manning on September 29, 1973 at Hindsboro Christian Church, they later divorced. He was a member of the Oakland Masonic Lodge # 219 and the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed listening to old music and acoustic guitar, sitting around a campfire, hunting, cooking, playing Euchre, being outdoors and riding ATV’s. He dearly loved his children and was especially proud of all of his grandchildren. Joe is survived by four children: Travis (Pam) Manning of Paris, IL; Jason (Nikki) Hawkins of Paris, IL; Stacey (Rowdy) Reed of Paris, IL and Amanda (Dean) Rose of Kansas, IL and eleven grandchildren: Matthew Hawkins, Jordan Skiles, Jamey Moore, Jayden Hawkins, Bailey Rose, Wyatt Gilbert, Cameryn Hawkins, Karleigh Freehill, Jacob Manning, Madison Manning and Grace Ann Manning. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland with Masonic rites immediately after. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following in Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish memorials may be made to Paris American Legion Post # 211.
