Johnny James Turner, age 80, of Hindsboro, IL, died Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
Johnny was born December 8, 1941, in Rudd, Arkansas, to Paul “Short” and Linnie Marie (Webb) Turner. He married Roberta June Pantier on September 16, 1961. He was previously employed at Schrock/Masterbrand Cabinets and was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church. Johnny was an avid fan of John Wayne and western movies and enjoyed woodworking. He loved being outdoors. He was a great fisherman, and liked camping and sitting around a campfire. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 61 years, Roberta Turner of Hindsboro, IL; two children: Melissa Turner Cox of Hindsboro, IL, and Elizabeth (Rick) Turner Koshinski of Killeen, TX; a brother: Larry Keith Turner of Berryville, AR; six grandchildren: Richie (Amber) Weaver of Oakland, IL, Melonie (Cody) Koshinski of Charleston, IL, Kelly “Bubba” Koshinski of Killeen, TX, Heather (Ryan) Buller of Killeen, TX, Jamie (Dan) Brinkerhoff of Lakeland, FL, and Coy (Angie) Cox of Hindsboro, IL; eight great-grandchildren: Donavon, Jacob, Jayden, Jeremiah, Rylan, Dylan, Bode, and Luna; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Nancy Turner; and a grandson: Samuel Todd Koshinski.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hindsboro Civic Center with Pastor Rich Knofsky officiating. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Johnny’s honor may be made to the Turner family to assist with expenses. Krabel Funeral Home of Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
