Obituary for John Robert Mitchell
John Robert "Bob" Mitchell, 88, of 304 Peach St., died Aug. 29, 2010, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, North Carolina. Born in Chrisman, IL, he was retired from sales with Western Southern Life Insurance Company. He was awarded theBronze Star for his duty in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lafayette, IN and a member of the First Baptist Church, Shelby, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Cecil and Bessie Parks Mitchell; his brother, Harold Mitchell; and his sister, Velma Irene Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kelsheimer Mitchell; his son, Doug and his wife, Tammy Mitchell; daughter, Carol Ann Mitchell; and grandchildren, Tanner and Logan Mitchell. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Chrisman, IL. Krabel Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements.
