Obituary for John Kindred
John William Kindred, age 79 of Chrisman, IL passed at home on Thursday, May 30, 2019.
John was born September 2, 1939 in Ridge Farm, IL to Earl and Wilma (Baker) Kindred. He married Renea Lynn Ibbotson on August 18, 1982; she survives.
He is also survived by four children: LaRinda (Stephen) Alexander of Chrisman, IL, Craig (Missy) Kindred of Chrisman, IL, Cindy (Dillon) Brazelton of Chrisman, IL, and Nicole (John) Clem of St. Joseph, IL; two brothers: James (Connie) Kindred of Scottland, IL and Earl (Pam) Kindred, Jr. of Chrisman, IL; one sister: Madonna Gates of Chrisman, IL; a brother-in-law: Richard Daily of Chrisman, IL; twelve grandchildren: Ryan (Cherina) Alexander of Chrisman, IL, Tyler (Josh) Alexander of Chrisman, IL, Kyle (Layney) Alexander of Chrisman, IL, Justin (Amanda) Kindred of Paris, IL, Jordan (Megan) Kindred of Hennepin, IL, Jocelyn (Ryan) Grunkemeyer of Loveland, CO, Alexis Kime of Chrisman, IL, Colton Brazelton of Chrisman, IL, Braxton Clem of St. Joseph, IL, Fletcher Clem of St. Joseph, IL, Brooks Clem of St. Joseph, IL, and Callie Ryerson of St. Joseph, IL; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Virginia Gilkerson and Beverly Daily.
John previously worked as a supervisor at Eli Lilly, farmed, and owned a trucking business with his son for 39 years. He was a member of the Edgar Methodist Church and the Midwest Truckers Association. John loved spending time with his family and socializing with friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, June 4, 2019 at 10:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hoult Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman FFA or the American Diabetes Association.
