Jerry Lynn “Pooder” Bradford, age 72, of Ashmore, IL, passed away peacefully at his
home on July 27, 2025.
Jerry was born October 16, 1952, in Ashmore, IL, to John and Carrie (Hawkins)
Bradford. He married the love of his life, Carol Sue Kanitz, who he affectionately called “Gabby,” on
December 31, 1990; she survives.
He is also survived by five children: Troy Edgar (Tammy) of Isabel, IL, Travis Edgar of
Brocton, IL, Jim Clifton (Belinda) of Oakland, IL, Josh Clifton of Ashmore, IL, and
Danelle Walsh (Paul) of Springfield, IL; a sister: Shirley Smith; a sister-in-law: Sandy
Bradford; fifteen grandchildren , six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death
by his parents; three brothers: Myron Bradford, Jim Bradford, and Larry Bradford; and a
sister: Mary Brown.
Jerry was a lifelong Ashmore resident and worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, watching sports,
listening to music, and going to yard sales. He was always quick with a joke and had nicknames for all of his loved ones.
Jerry's Celebration of Life will take place on August 17, 2025 from1-5 p.m. at the Ashmore Community Center. In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts
in Jerry's honor may be made to Carol to help with arrangements. Krabel Funeral Home of Oakland, IL, is
assisting the family.
