Obituary for Jennie Short
Jennie L. Short, age 82 of Chrisman went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2010 at her residence. Jennie was born January 22, 1928 in Brouillets Creek Township near Logan. She was raised by her grandmother and lived in the Scottland area during her youth. Jennie married Bob White, who preceded her in death, and later married Ray Short, who also preceded her in death. She worked as a hostess at the Colonial Kitchen. She was an active member of the Chrisman Christian Church and also belonged to the Household Science Club, Christians Women’s Fellowship, HCE, the Sara & Friends singing group and the Scottland Girls. She enjoyed bird watching, crochet, crossword puzzles and flowers. She is survived by two children, Dennie (Kathy) White of Chrisman and Janice Drake of Paris; six grandchildren: Roxie Coble of Carmel, IN, Wendy Chapman of Paris, IL, Bryce Drake of Indianapolis, IN, Eric Drake of Paris, IL, Brandon White of Paris, IL and Cameron White of St. Joseph, MO; and seven great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Bob White and Ray Short. Visitation will be held at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman on Friday, July 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman Christian Church or the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village Activity Fund in care of the funeral home.
