Obituary for Ida Mae "Corky" Burmeister
Ida Mae “Corky” Burmeister, age 91, of Oakland, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Corky was born April 30, 1928 in Kansas, IL to Charles and Flora (Sells) Fitzpatrick. She married Richard William Burmeister on February 8, 1950, he preceded her in death. Corky was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and she owned and operated Corky’s Diner in Oakland for many years. She also enjoyed working in her yard and loved her dogs. Corky was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, who were like children to her. Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Oakland Senior Center.
