Obituary for Helen Henson
Helen V. (Kirkley) Henson, age 75, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at her home. Helen was born September 13, 1936 in Oakland, IL to John and Pearl (Jones) Kirkley. She married Gerald Henson, Sr. on July 30, 1953; he survives. She is also survived by their two children: Sherry Henson Mitchell of Chrisman, IL and Gerald Henson, Jr. of Grandview, IL; three brothers: Dallas Kirkley of Charleston, IL, Leland Kirkley of Matton, IL and Norman Kirkley of North Riverside, IL; two sisters: Darlene Utley of Matton, IL and Charolette Robinson of Lake City, FL; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Mitchell, , Molly Mitchell Gross, Daniel Henson, Amanda Henson Paugh, Sarah Henson Hall, Kevin Henson and Kirk Henson; ten great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters, one daughter in-law and a granddaughter, Jennifer (Mitchell) Sheehy. Following cremation, a graveside memorial service will be held at Shields Cemetery, Oakland, IL on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11 A.M. Krabel Funeral Home of Oakland is handling the arrangements for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Lincolnland Hospice.
