Obituary for Harriet Anne Baker
Harriet Anne Baker, age 81, of Chrisman, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Anne was born September 2, 1929 in Chrisman, Illinois to Arthur and Maude (Jamison) Jenkins. She married Gordon Carl Baker on June 25, 1950 at the Chrisman United Methodist Church, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She was a lifetime resident of Chrisman. In the early 1950’s she worked as a bookkeeper for Mooney motors and then became a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Chrisman United Methodist Church and enjoyed antiques and attending flea markets. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Baker of Chrisman; a son, Thomas Joe (Jana) Baker of Elk Grove Village, IL; a daughter, Deborah Kay (Terry) Furnish of Dana, IN; a sister, Maryellen Radabaugh of Rossville, GA; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Chrisman. No public visitation is scheduled. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Edgar County Humane Society in care of Krabel Funeral Home.
