Obituary for Harold J. Wyatt

Harold Jay Wyatt, age 98, of Chrisman, IL, died January 13, 2026, at Twin Lakes Extended Care in Paris, IL.

Harold was born May 3, 1927, in Chrisman, IL, to Ora and Pearl (Mullen) Wyatt. He married Hilda Ann Dixon on June 6, 1948. They were married for seventy-two years before she preceded him in death in 2020.

He is survived by four children: Sharon Lorenzen (Tony), Pam Taylor (Rick), Nancy Morris (Bobby), and Mark Wyatt (Susan), all of Chrisman, IL; thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by one brother, one sister and two great-grandchildren.

Harold started his military career as a Marine, serving during the Korean War, and carried those characteristics through his life.

He was a lifelong resident of Chrisman, where he was an active member of the community, serving as a past board member of the First National Bank and the Chrisman School board, as a member of the Chrisman American Legion Post #477, and as a volunteer with the Chrisman Fire Department. He enjoyed farming, backhoe and tile work, and working in his shop.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Chapel Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman American Legion Post #477.
