Obituary for Gene Miller
Alvie Eugene “Gene” Miller, age 74 of Hume, IL passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 surrounded by his family at home. Gene was born April 27, 1945 to Alvie Orville and Mildred Louise (Willhite) Miller in Crawfordsville, IN. He married Patty Jane Anglen on December 16, 1964, and they enjoyed 54 years together. She survives. Gene was a member of Hume Christian Church, and enjoyed auctions and playing bingo. He loved Miller Racing, car shows, and his trucks. Most of all, he loved spending time and sharing a drink with his family and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Kenny and Gary. He is survived by his wife; their six children: Cathy (Keith) Smith of Paris, IL; Scott (Charlotte) Miller of Georgetown, IL; Debbie (Mark) Hays of Hume, IL; Christina (Troy) Eads of Hume, IL; Tim (Kayla) Miller of Chrisman, IL and David (Charles) Miller of Naples, FL; two brothers: Tom Miller of Brazil, IN; and Walt Miller of Danville, IL; three sisters: Patricia (Bill) Priest of Tilton, IL; Irene (Chuck) Mercer of Oakwood, IL; and Betty (Lonnie) Duprey of Vermilion Grove, IL; eleven grandchildren: Billy Thompson, Zachary Smith, Brittany Smith, Whitney Pitts, Hillary Pitts, Seth Eads, Danielle Ludington, Elizabeth Miller, Levi Eads, Remington Laughhead, and Charlie Jane Miller; and seven great-grandchildren: Ashton Thompson, Hunter Thompson, Chloe Jane Thompson, Keith Thompson, Dalylah Pitts, Castiel Powell, and Alexandria Powell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Young America Cemetery.
