Obituary for Franklin Deffenbaugh
Franklin Earnest Deffenbaugh, age 80, of Hume, IL passed away November 20, 2015 at Paris Community Hospital.
Frank was born April 16, 1935 in Jamaica Township, IL to Frank and Mildred (Lewis) Deffenbaugh. He married Janice Ann Thomas on July 11, 1987. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from NACCO, and enjoyed watching TV. In his younger years, he also enjoyed shooting bows and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife: Janice Deffenbaugh of Hume, IL; four children: Rodney (Shari) Deffenbaugh of Sidell, IL, Brian Deffenbaugh of Perrysville, IN, Randy Deffenbaugh of Heglar, IL and Richard Deffenbaugh of Danville, IL; five step-children: Alan Gossett of Hume, IL, Jerry (Shari) Gossett of Dana, IN, Christy Penrod of Hume, IL, Ivin (Charlene) Gossett of Paris, IL and Lisa Gossett of Charleston, IL; four sisters: Fern (Jim) Pettinato of Oceanside, CA, Joann (Jack) Reed of Garden City, MI, Mary (Marvin) Wyer of Georgetown, IL and Phyllis Rutan of Cayuga, IN; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: Tommy, Greg and Carl; two brothers: Harold and John; and a great-grandson: Christopher.
Private family services will be held. Krabel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
