Obituary for Florence Ellen Milholland
Florence Ellen Milholland, age 101, of Chrisman, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. Florence was born February 6, 1912 to Charles and Laura (Bratton) Milholland in Scottland, IL. She earned her teaching certificate at Eastern Illinois and taught school for 36 years retiring in 1972. She was a member of Vermilion Grove Friends Church and the Women’s Society of the Church, a lifelong member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Vermilion County Retired Teachers, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Georgetown Homemakers. Florence is survived by four nieces: Judy Milholland of Westville, IL, Juna Milholland of Westville, IL, Mary (Larry) Jacobs of Coeur D’alene, ID and Martha (Richard) Schatzka of Green Acres, WA and three nephews: John (Connie) Milholland of Frankfort, IN, Maurice (Arlene) Fleming of Thousand Oaks, CA and Steven Smith of Moscow, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters and two nieces. A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 3012 at Friends Chapel Cemetery.
