Evelyn Kay (Stark) Woodworth, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2023, at Charleston Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family in prayer.
Kay was born May 16, 1940, to Fred “Bud” and Bertha Earlene (Olinger) Stark, Jr. She married Donald Doral Woodworth on June 1, 1958, at the Oakland Christian Church; he survives.
She is also survived by three children: Debbie D. Timmons of Charleston, IL, Darla J. (Leslee) Combs of Charleston, IL, and Ed “Woody” (Janice) Woodworth of Arcola, IL; two sisters: Shirley Maynard of Paris, IL and Patty Hess of Sullivan, IL; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Kay Ann Blake and a sister: Carolyn Sue Beightel.
Kay was a member of the Oakland Christian Church, where she also belonged to the BCL club. She enjoyed crochet, scrapbooking, doing crafts with her grandchildren, camping, and sewing. She also held several jobs in Oakland, including Duzan Furniture, for the City of Oakland, Ruth & Roy’s Beauty & Barber Shop, and as a playground assistant at the school.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made in Kay’s honor to the Oakland Memorial Library.
