Obituary for Evelyn J. Morris
Evelyn J. (Robinson) Morris, age 91 of Oakland, IL, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at Heritage Woods in Charleston.
Evelyn was born December 8, 1925 in Vigo County, IN to Roy and Marian (Cox) Robinson. She married Joe Ray Morris on December 21, 1951 in Terre Haute, IN; he preceded her in death in 2015.
She is survived by two children: Sandra (Mike) Craven and Joe R. (Jan) Morris, Jr.; four grandchildren: Michael Craven, John Craven, Andrew Morris, and Scott Morris; and two great-grandchildren: Tyler Craven and Ryan Craven. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Edward Robinson.
Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Oakland and worked for many years as a cook for the Oakland School District. She loved to work in her yard and took great pride in it. Her joy was her family and she loved to cook for them. Evelyn was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a supportive grandma.
