Obituary for Ella Mae Temples
Ella Mae Temples, age 83 of Oakland, IL went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020. Ella Mae was born March 18, 1937 in Petersburg, TN to Curtis Paul and Rutha Lois (Capps) Watson. She married Charles A. Temples on November 6, 1955 at Hindsboro United Methodist Church, and they enjoyed sixty-one years of marriage together before his passing in 2017. Ella Mae was a true farmer’s wife. She showed livestock and supported sales at the county fair in addition to running her home and raising her kids, and was a faithful member of Oakland United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved watching them play football, run track, and go four-wheeling. Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son: Gary Duane Temples. She is survived by three daughters: Debra Kay West of Villa Grove, IL; Sherry Lynn Dorjahn of Atwood, IL; and Michele Louise Swick of Oakland, IL; one brother: Harold Ray Watson; one sister: Anna Jean Watson Mapes; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Oakland United Methodist Church or Lincolnland Hospice.
