Obituary for Edith Joanne McGahey
Edith Joanne (Small) McGahey, age 78 of Ashmore, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Hilltop Convalescent Center in Charleston, Illinois. Joanne was born August 26, 1934 to Homer T. and Edith Marie (Kessel) Small. She married Jack Edward McGahey on October 5, 1958 in Oakland, Illinois; he survives. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Oakland Chapter) and the American Legion Auxiliary. Joanne loved to work with ceramics and was an expert at it. She is survived by her husband, Jack and one brother, Harold (Wilma) Small of Shelbyville, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held for one hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Faith in Action.
