Obituary for Earnest Earl Rienbolt
Ernest Earl Rienbolt, age 86 of Metcalf, IL, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Earl was born January 7, 1926 in Robinson, IL to Henry Miles and Lola Mae (Chapman) Rienbolt. He married Naomi Geraldine Smith on January 2, 1951; she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Terry Neil (Nancy) Rienbolt of Urbana, IL and David Allen (Lynette) Rienbolt of Millstadt, IL; three grandchildren, Zachary Rienbolt of Millstadt, IL, Maggie Rienbolt of Chicago, IL and Katie Rienbolt of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Earl was a lifelong resident of Metcalf and formerly served as its mayor. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, were he achieved the rank of corporal. He retired from General Motors in 1988 after working at the Danville facility for 35 years. He was a member of the Metcalf Christian Church, a member of the Lions Club and a past member of the Shiloh School Board. He was a woodworker, and avid Fighting Illini fan, and loved to pitch horseshoes. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Visitation will also be held Friday at the Metcalf Christian Church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Chrisman. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Metcalf Christian Church.
