Obituary for Donald Wood
Donald I. Wood, age 82, of Chrisman, IL, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman, IL.

Don was born August 18, 1933 in Rankin, IL to Irvin and Geraldine (Dorman) Wood. He married Lois Bolen on February 21, 1959. Don graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science and worked for many years as a license examiner for the Illinois Secretary of State. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Chrisman American Legion Post #477. Don called square dancing all over the Midwest for over 50 years. He served as mayor of Chrisman from 1975-1983. He loved his excursions to Kentucky with his friends and family, and also enjoyed buying, selling and driving mules, and attending any mule related events.

He is survived by two children: Sheriff Jeff (Kris) Wood of Paris, IL and Jill (Stewart) Finchum of Georgetown, IL; a sister: Sharon Kay (Joe) Smith of Dwight, IL; three grandchildren: Eli Grimes, Trent Finchum and Reece Wood; and special friends: Shelby Gore. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Chrisman Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Friends Chapel Cemetery.
