Obituary for Donald Keith Robison
Donald Keith Robison, 77, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2015 from health complications.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna (Smith) Robison and his sons: David (Carol) Robison , Daniel (Sue) Robison , Gregg (Margaret) Robison, and daughter Deborah ( Jordan) Hale; his grandsons: Andrew Robison, Brett ( Alethia) Robison , Gregg (Carly) Robison, Keith Robison, Davis Hale and Porter Hale; his granddaughters: Breanne ( Mark) Varela, Sarah ( Adam) Wineland, and Anna Robison; and great grandchildren: Colton Wineland and Colton Ulrich.

Born and raised in Newton Falls, Ohio, Don was raised by his parents Glenn and Florence (Forney) Robison with his two brothers, Jerry (Bev) and Jim (Pat). The story was told that when Don (Donnie) used to go to church with the family that he always wanted to sit on the steps by the pulpit and the pastor would allow it to "keep him quiet."

Don's friend, Don Richter, who was dating Donna's friend Lois, introduced Don to Donna. Don, being the creative one back in the day, took Donna's necklace on one date and would not give it back so that he got to see her again. That flourished into a relationship that lasted a lifetime.

Don was quick to learn new things, and shortly after marrying Donna learned small engine repair and helped Donna's father, Virgil, run the family business, Champion Garden Center, which specialized in power equipment. This afforded him the opportunity to raise his children and, along with Virgil, helped them learn business, sales and mechanics.

Don was always willing to pass on his knowledge to his kids and because of his passion for music, encouraged all of his children to learn different aspects of music. All of his children were in the church choir as well as school choir. His children worked on different aspects of their musical talent. David and Debbie both specialized in singing and Dan and Gregg used their musical talents in the band, Daniel playing trumpet and Gregg playing trombone and guitar which Gregg still practices today.

Don also helped David with learning small engine repair as well as teaching Dan his first magic trick and getting him started in the art of magic. Don was always there to support anything his children were interested in and went to many events that his kids were involved with including band, talent shows, wrestling, choir and plays.

Don, Donna and Debbie moved to Chrisman in the late 80's where Don worked as a salesman at Bill's Mower Shop until it closed and then was a salesperson at Sears until retiring.

Visitation will be held Thursday November 12, 2015 at Chrisman Nazarene Church in Chrisman, Illinois from 11:00am till 1:00pm, and the funeral service will follow, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman Nazarene Church. Krabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the family.
