Donald O. Coe, age 92 of Chrisman, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Paris Community Hospital.
Donald was born December 21, 1923 in Chrisman, IL to Russell and Hazel (Hughes) Coe. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in WWII from 1943-1946. He retired as a chemical operator from USI. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #477, the Ansar Shrine, and the Masonic Lodge. He was an avid fan of Chrisman Cardinals sports and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Frances Coe; three children: Donna (Tony) Perrelle of Terre Haute, IN, Edward (Cathy) Coe of Chrisman, IL, and Janice (Dennis) Hanner of Paris, IL; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; a sister: Helen Heath of Chrisman, IL; a brother-in-law: Joseph Mazzola of Camden, DE; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Margaret Land.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the All Abilities Playground in Paris, or the Indy Honor Flight. Messages of sympathy may be left at www.krabelfuneralhome.com.
