Obituary for Derral Wilson
Derral Leo Wilson, 90, of Chrisman, died at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. Derral was born on February 14, 1920 in Edgar County, IL, the son of William Jefferson and Grace Armenia Scott Wilson. He married Naomi Cook on July 29, 1940 in Kentucky. She preceded him in death. Derral graduated from Chrisman High School, class of 1940. He retired in 1994 after working as a self-employed grain and livestock farmer for over 54 years. He was a member of the Edgar United Methodist Church. He loved high school and college basketball, the Chicago Bears and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He also loved to travel, especially the Locks at Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and the western part of the U.S. and Canada. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Lynn Wilson; daughter, Sharon Lee Wilson and three siblings, William and Jerry Wilson and June Grafton. He is survived by his daughter, Darra Clarkston of South Beloit, IL; three grandchildren, Carla (husband, Brian) Vandiver of Bement, IL, Zack (wife, Katie) Wilson of Chatham, IL and Amber (husband, Guy) Bucciferro of Roscoe, IL; four great-grandchildren, Tori, Gaetano, Odessa and Michael; siblings, Charlet Emrick and Jessie Branson, both of Paris, IL, Rozella Travis of Terre Haute, IN and Maggie (husband, J.T.) Powell of Thompson, GA; sister-in-law, Lavonna Mattick-Clinton; and one niece, Roxie (husband, Wayne) Sager of Newport, IN. Family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Krabel Funeral Home, 602 E. Madison Ave., Chrisman. Funeral ceremony will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Chapel in Scottland, IL.
