David Lee Bonebrake, 80, Oakland, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, Missouri.
He was born November 3, 1943, in Danville, Illinois, to Orville Bonebrake and Margaret Evans Bonebrake. On January 14, 1979, he was married at Charleston, Illinois, to Pamela Eads. For thirty years, David worked as a truck driver hauling steel. His CB Handle on the job was Coffee Cup and he was one of the hardest working men this world has known. He loved hunting and camping, especially with his family. He never knew a stranger and had a larger-than-life personality and a voice that carried across three counties. One of his favorite places to be was Cloud 9 Ranch in Caulfield, Missouri, where he and his wife were members for forty years. He loved being outdoors, whether he was hunting, white water rafting, farming, riding his Harley or chopping wood. David was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family most of all; nothing meant more to him than his family. David had a loud exterior, a quick opinion and a teaser in his pocket at any moment. But, his heart also softened as quickly as his smile appeared. That open-mouthed smile and cackle were always a pleasure to be around. He made people around him smile and that’s enough to make the world just a bit better.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Bonebrake; four children, Lisa McClain and husband, Kenny, Thomas Bonebrake and wife, Patricia, Timothy Bonebrake and Bobbie Bonebrake and partner, Jason Thomason; six grandchildren, Kenny (Bub) McClain, Jr. and wife, Nichole, Shannon Bonebrake, Korri Bishop and husband, Bruce, Cody Bonebrake and wife, Bailey, Kaleb Bonebrake and wife, Hannah and Austin Bonebrake; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way, Zoey, Hunter, Riley (Doodle bug), Levi, Benjamin, Keegan, Waylon and Blair; two brothers, Charles Bonebrake and James Bonebrake and wife, Kay; one sister, Donna Bonebrake; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, step-mother, Mary Bonebrake, one sister, Sandra McCorkle and one sister-in-law, Bernadine Bonebrake, preceded him in death.
Arrangements in Missouri under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
