Obituary for Craig DeWayne McConkey
Craig DeWayne McConkey, age 29 of Hindsboro, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 as a result of an automobile accident in rural Douglas County. Craig was born January 6, 1983 in Mattoon, IL. He was employed by Howe Sims Construction in Charleston, IL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycles and loved spending time with his friends. He is survived by his mother and step father, Linda(Keigley) and Ron Goodwin of Lizton, IN; his father and step-mother, Johnnie and Lauri McConkey of Palm Bay, FL; a daughter, Taylor Paige McConkey Warren; a sister, Alexandra Goodwin of Terre Haute, IN; and grandparents Ronnie and Nancy McConkey of Paris, IL and Cleo and Shirley Keigley of Charleston, IL. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Patrick McConkey. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral in Oakland. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made for the benefit of Craig’s daughter in care of First Mid Illinois Bank & Trust in Charleston.
