Obituary for Charlotte Mae Harvey
Charlotte Mae (Duzan) Harvey, age 90, of Charleston, IL passed away Sunday, February, 24, 2013, at Charleston Rehab & Health Care Center. She was born on May 7, 1922, to Arley E. and Mabel Mae (Minor) Duzan in Oakland, IL. On September 13, 1947, she married Ivan Richard Harvey in Decatur, IL; he preceded her in death in 2006. Charlotte is survived by four daughters: Linda (Dale) Lutz of St. Paul, MN; Diane (Steve) Beaty of Hindsboro, IL; Gayle Sue Harvey of Charleston, IL and Jacky (John) Madden of Atwood, IL; one son, Gary (Marcella) Harvey of Oakland, IL; four brothers: Charles (Barbara) Duzan of Oakland, IL; Jerry (Marie) Duzan of Oakland, IL; Ron (Patty) Duzan of Urbana, IL and Rex (Janet) Duzan of Villa Grove, IL; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister. She was a lifelong resident of Coles County and a member of the Hindsboro United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Oakland VFW Post # 3637 Auxiliary. She was a leader for Girl Scouts and Brownies, 4-H, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, gardening, watching and feeding the wildlife and dearly loved her grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Hindsboro Civic Center or Hindsboro United Methodist Church
