Charles Robert Greve, age 75 of Chrisman, IL passed away surrounded by his family Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Charlie was born February 1, 1940 in Tuscola, IL to Montelle and Margaret (Rairden) Greve. He married Anna Faye Brown on July 16, 1961. He lived in Chrisman over 50 years, making many cherished friendships. He was a member of the Chrisman Christian Church. Charlie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying fishing, woodworking, gardening and working in his well-manicured yard, visiting with the guys at the coffee shop, having breakfast at the Brown Barn and lunch at the Ridge, karaoke with Pat and Joe, country music, porch sitting and watching birds.
He is survived by a daughter: Lisa (Steve) Lewis of Chrisman, IL; a sister, Janet (Wayne) Benner of Mission, TX; a sister-in-law: Rosie Greve of Seneca, IL; three grandchildren: Lacey Jane (Shannon) Frailey, Levi Lewis and Dalton Lewis; and many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna; his parents; a brother: Tom Greve; a brother-in-law: Errol Frahm; and a nephew, Travis Barrow.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
