Carl William “Bill” Vaught, age 84, of Charleston, IL, died Monday, November 4, 2024, at Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Center.
Bill was born July 29, 1940, in Clinton, IN, to Carl Fletcher and Evelyn Iris (Waggoner) Vaught. He married Linda Kristine Redman on September 6, 1963. He was a farmer and enjoyed playing golf. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by two children: Megan Symonds (Rod) of Charleston, IL, and Jeremy Vaught (Maria Valenzuela) of Apache Junction, AZ; four grandchildren: Jilliann Symonds, Brynn Symonds, Michelle Valenzuela, and Angel Valenzuela; a sister: Linda Johnson (Red) of Sebring, FL; two nieces: Kristin St. Clair and Amy Zimmerman and a nephew Todd St Clair. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kris Vaught, and nephews Bill Ash and Mick St. Clair.
A private family service will be held at a later date. For those who wish, monetary gifts in Bill’s honor may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. Krabel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
