Calvin “Bud” Earl Taylor, age 85, of Oakland, IL, passed away surrounded by family September 15, 2025, at Oaks Manor in Oakland, IL. Calvin was born August 10, 1940, in Rardin, IL, to Roshen and Oather Pearl (Pfeiffer) Taylor. He married Nancy Jane Sims on November 2, 1963: she survives.
He is also survived by two children: Kelly Harmon (Jeff) of Kansas, IL, and Doug Taylor (Kelli) of Ashmore, IL; a sister: Barbara Abrams of Kansas City, KS; five grandchildren: Taylor Packard, Dakota Harmon, Bailey Taylor, Grace Harmon, and Kynzer Taylor; a great-grandson: Jeffery Packard and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Calvin lived and farmed in the Oakland area for over fifty years. He was a member of the Oakland Christian Church and the ITPA. He enjoyed tractor pulling, NASCAR, dirt track racing, and showing Angus cattle. He loved watching his grandchildren playing sports and cheerleading.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. For those who wish, memorials in Calvin’s honor may be made to the Oakland FFA.
