Obituary for Ronald "Doc" August Krabel
Ronald August “Doc” Krabel, age 66, of Chrisman, IL, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:39 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

He is survived by one daughter: Sarah (Stefan) Jones of Chrisman; his mother: Norma Krabel, of Chrisman; three brothers: Mike (Amy) Krabel of Indianola, Dave (Rebecca) Krabel of Paris, and Rusty (Becky) Krabel of Chrisman; a sister-in-law: Sandy Krabel of Chrisman; four grandchildren: Peyton, Aubrey, Hadley and Jayce; a step-daughter: Becky Brimm; a step-granddaughter: Arianna; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father: Chuck Krabel; a daughter: Kacie Krabel; a brother: Norman Krabel; and a nephew: Brett Krabel.

Ron was born August 18, 1951. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he trained and handled service dogs and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. In Ron’s younger days, he was quite the DJ at the disco where everyone had a good time. He was previously employed as a salesman at Toyota of Danville and Carmack Car Capital. In later years, he enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.

A graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman Veterans Memorial. Krabel Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the family.
