Obituary for Jeanne Lee Rankins
Jeanne Lee (Alexander) Rankins, age 76, of Oakland, IL died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Arcola Healthcare. Jeanne was born October 17, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN to William Enoch and Joan Josephine (Horine) Alexander. She married Harold Wayne Rankins on August 5, 1962 and they were married for 56 years; he survives. She is also survived by two children: Karen (Martin) Goatley of Oakland, IL and Susan Rankin (John Bankes) of Peoria, IL; a brother: Gary Alexander of Villa Grove, IL; two sisters: Becky (Ron) Winn of Tuscola, IL and Cindy Cummings of Texas; five grandchildren: Kayla (Ben) Ogle of Charleston, IL, John Bankes of Peoria, IL, Megan (Justin) Evans of Oakland, IL, Ashley Bankes of Peoria, IL, and Ian Goatley of Charleston, IL; and eight great-grandchildren: Aria, Lennex, and Declan Ogle of Charleston, IL; Jeremiah, Noah, and Karlie Evans of Ashmore, IL; Emsely Evans of Oakland, IL; and Izzy Bankes of Peoria, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and a great-grandson: John Bankes III. Jeanne was a daycare provider for many years and enjoyed collecting antiques. She dearly loved her children and all of her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at noon at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Oakland Library.
