Obituary for Elias Elton Ingram

Elias Elton Ingram, age 91, of Chrisman, IL, died Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living.

Elton was born April 3, 1932, in Scottland, IL, to Forest and Thelma (Frazier) Ingram. He married Elsie Faye Craig; she preceded him in death in 2022.

He is survived by a daughter: Glenda (Dennis) Barrett of Chrisman, IL, two grandchildren: Cody (Kristan) Barrett and Courtney (Johnathon) Jones, both of Chrisman, IL; three great-grandchildren: Taylor Jones, Izabell Barrett, and Ember Faye Barrett; two sisters-in-law: JoAnn Lacy and Marlene Craig; a cousin: John Frazier; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Elton was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Chrisman American Legion. He served for many years as the Ross Township Highway Commissioner. He enjoyed driving and showing draft horses, coon hunting, and loved spending time with his family.

A graveside interment will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Friends Chapel Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Chrisman American Legion. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Meadows Senior Living Activity Fund.
